FOOTBALL FANATICS FREDY JORDAN NGULWA AND GEORGE JOEL LUKUBA FROM TANZANIA TRIUMPH IN THE GUINNESS® FOOTBALL CHALLENGE™

Fredy Jordan Ngulwa and George Joel Lukuba from Dar Es salaam, Tanzania, topped the GUINNESS® FOOTBALL CHALLENGE™ leader board last night as they took the title of episode 4 champions on ITV. Fighting off tough competition from the other teams from Kenya and Uganda, as well as last week’s winning team, also from Tanzania, the dynamic duo demonstrated nimble footwork and football knowledge that was second to none to win big in the not-to-be-missed TV game show phenomenon.
In the first round, Picture Trivia and Free Kick, the Tanzanian team stormed ahead despite a shaky start in the knowledge section, leaving the other three teams to face a tiebreak, which sent the Kenyan duo home. Round 2 saw the Ugandan team come out top on in the knowledge section, the Formation Challenge, and put in a good performance in the Obstacle challenge, which had been expertly demonstrated by Rigobert Song. Last week’s winners incurred a small penalty on the way round, but it was this week’s new Tanzanian team who made it round the obstacle course in the quickest time – with Fredy Jordan smashing Rigobert Song’s 38-second course record on the way! It was very close, but the Ugandan team clocked the slowest time, leaving the two Tanzanian teams to battle it out in the semi final.

The all-Tanzanian semi final saw this week’s new team demonstrate real skill and record a convincing win over their compatriots giving them the opportunity to try and take home a big cash prize in the Guinness® Money Wall.

The Guinness® Money Wall was topped up with the rollover money from last week’s show putting USD56K up for grabs. The duo put in an impressive performance hitting the first four targets from their first six balls securing USD10.5K. With four balls still on offer for the final two targets, they decided to gamble and try to win more cash, but the gamble didn’t pay off as they couldn’t hit the 5th target, so lost their last pot walking away with just USD6K. But they will be back next week to battle it out against three new teams and see if they can win even more cash!
Hosted by Larry Asego and Flavia Tumusiime, the GUINNESS® FOOTBALL CHALLENGE™ TV show celebrates East Africa’s passion for football in the definitive fan test. In each show, contestants face a variety of exciting new challenges as they have to work together showing team-work and knowledge of the game in this definitive but fun fan test - three elimination rounds of knowledge and physical skills games that will lead to the best team each week playing in the Final Round where they can risk it all to win big cash prizes.

Each week, the winning team from the previous show will return to take on three new sets of challengers and see if they have what it takes to win two in a row. The season will culminate in a best of the best episode with four of the best teams from the series going head to head to be crowned champion of champions and increase their winnings.

The Season Finale will see the four football stars, who have appeared throughout the series, take part in the GUINNESS® FOOTBALL CHALLENGE™ themselves. Jay Jay Okocha, Marcel Desailly, Rigobert Song and Kalusha Bwalya will be partnered with the top scoring consumers who have been planning the GUINNESS® FOOTBALL CHALLENGE™ mobile game, who will have the chance to demonstrate their football knowledge to the nation.
